Yash is gearing up for another big-screen action spectacle with Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film has already generated plenty of buzz because of its dark setting, intense action and Yash’s unusual character. The movie is scheduled to release in theaters on August 26, 2026.

The latest certification details have now given fans a clearer idea of what to expect from the film, including its runtime and basic storyline.

Toxic Runtime and Plot

Toxic has received an A certificate and reportedly has a runtime of 194 minutes, which means audiences will be watching a film that runs for around 3 hours and 14 minutes.

The story is set in post-independence Goa and revolves around a gangster whose life is shaped by violence, ambition, loyalty and complicated relationships. At its core, the film explores the price of love, the consequences of power and a man’s difficult journey toward redemption.

Yash plays Raya, a dangerous and unpredictable character who appears determined to build his own world without caring much about the people he hurts along the way. The trailer gives a glimpse of a man surrounded by enemies, power struggles and personal conflicts.

Things become even more complicated when Raya finds himself facing a major threat from his own son, Ticket. Their relationship appears to be one of the key emotional elements of the story, adding a family conflict to the film’s larger gangster narrative.

Toxic Cast

Alongside Yash, the film features a strong ensemble cast. Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth are among the leading names associated with the project.

Actors including Akshay Oberoi, Sudev Nair and Amit Tiwari also have important roles in the movie.

Toxic is being presented as a Kannada-English bilingual film and is also scheduled to release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, giving it a wide pan-Indian reach.

Music and Action

The film’s background score has been composed by Ravi Basrur, known for his work on several major Indian action films. The action sequences have been choreographed by international stunt expert JJ Perry along with the popular stunt duo Anbariv.

Toxic Release Date

Toxic was originally expected to arrive in theaters on March 19, 2026. However, the release was later pushed to June 4 before being postponed once again.

The film is now scheduled for a theatrical release on August 26, 2026. The makers are reportedly aiming for a stronger worldwide release window with the new date.

What’s Next for Yash?

Following Toxic, Yash will take on another ambitious project with Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The mythological epic will also feature Ranbir Kapoor and is planned as a two-part film.

The first installment is expected during Diwali 2026, followed by the second part in Diwali 2027. With Toxic arriving first, Yash has another major theatrical release lined up before stepping into the world of Ramayana.
